The road in

I know I’ve posted pics before of the adventurous road across from Port Alberni to the Pacific Rim, complete with sections where the posted speed limit is 30 km per hour. When we came over on Monday it was through a torrential rain storm and following a big truck, and meeting others on the way. It is worth any road hazard to get here!

no knitting on this road!

Better photo of the yarn haul

This one shows the colours pretty true:

so beautiful!

Clockwise from the top right:

Sweatermaker “Simply Socks” in “blu” and “peach”.

A handspun/dyed local yarn by Sandy Walker, “Dandelion Lane”.  100% wool, 180 yards, I’m guessing chunky weight.

Indigo Moon Ultimate Sock Yarn, colourway “West Coast Sunset” which I have split into two balls and cast on for socks for me.

Malabrigo worsted weight in colour “cosecha”.  This is a good representation of the colours, not like the BlackBerry pic below.

Malabrigo sock yarn, “velvet grapes”.

Sweet Georgia “Tough Love” sock yarn; “boheme” (pinky) and “cold mountain” (blues)

and lastly, Sweet Fibre’s Silk Cashmere Lace (400 yds/50g) I couldn’t find a colour name or number, but it’s a smoky turquoise/grey.  And so soft!

What could have their rapt attention?

As we are travelling, I’m sure the hounds were worried about their daily poultry consumption being curtailed.

Dude! Where's our chicken?!

At home every supper time they get a handful of roast chicken meat on their kibble.

see? the male human is providing chicken!

Luckily both the Co-op grocery stores in the area have dizzy (rotisserie) chicken available, so the poor hounds won’t starve or be too neglected.

I didn’t bring my juicer along and I’ve been trying to eat somewhat responsibly.  But we still had to have chips at the chip wagon in Tofino (Big Daddy’s Fish Fry).  I did bring my stick blender and picked up bananas, spinach and frozen peaches:

It just tastes better while looking at the ocean!

Today we’re doing some laundry and not doing too much else.  The weather forecast keeps threatening rain, but other than the deluge during our drive here, we haven’t had any.
