We spent the day at the Chinook Winds Greyhound Rescue annual picnic. The weather was awesome – yesterday Edmonton had some showers and wind, but today was glorious – mostly sunny and a pleasant +19° C. We arrived at 10:30 and it was all greyhounds, all day long until about 5p.m.
I’ve uploaded all the pics on my Flickr page, but I haven’t gone through and deleted duplicates, crappy ones, etc. We’re all too tired.
There was food, fun, greyhound games (bobbing for weiners), bid bag raffles, live auction, etc.
There were so many greyhounds it was all one could see! It was dizzying to look out on a sea of brindle, white, white and brindle, brindle and white, black, blue, fawn, etc.
The four sweaters I’d made to donate all found new homes and will be keeping some gorgeous hounds cosy warm this fall.
I’ll post more after we get home. It could be that a new Canon EOS Rebel XSi digital SLR found its way into my possession … more on that later, too, but so far it’s quite awesome!
